NUCSLE Sponsors the Second Annual Summer Colloquium

International leaders in the field of education will be on Nipissing University’s North Bay campus this week for the Second Annual Summer Colloquium: Values and the Future of Educational Leadership. The colloquium is an integral part of Nipissing University’s summer institute on Educational Sustainability for PhD candidates and runs Thursday, July 18 and Friday, July 19.The colloquium is meant to generate discussion on authentic educational leadership in the fields of early childhood education, elementary/secondary education, post-secondary education, and professional education. Nipissing University faculty, PhD and MEd candidates, alumni, and other interested educators are invited to attend.
“The Schulich School of Education is an internationally recognized leader, committed to providing high-caliber, innovative education programs,” said Sharon Rich, Associate Vice President, Academic. “Events such as the annual summer colloquium ensure Nipissing remains at the forefront of educational practices.”
Presenters include: Paul Begley, professor of education, Nipissing University (Retired); Melanie Dixon, director of professional practice, Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators; Richard Kennelly, Principal, J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate, Durham Region; David Langford, Principal, Awapuni Primary School, Gisborne, New Zealand; Pauline Leonard, professor and chair of the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Leadership, College of Education, Louisiana Tech University; Anthony Normore, professor and department chair of educational leadership at California Lutheran University.
