Time travellers wanted - Profs predict the future at NU2042 part II

Nipissing professors are getting ready to take another trip into the future and everyone is invited.
In this increasingly technical age, are ethics finished? What role will religion play as humans march forward through time?  Are we ever going to effectively end human trafficking? Will our communities be more literate? Can math save the day? These are the questions lined up for discussion this Thursday night at the next NU2042 when Nipissing University faculty gaze into the unknown to present a glimpse of our world 25 years into the future.

NU2042 takes place on Thursday September 21, from 7-9 p.m. at The Grande Event Centre on Main Street in North Bay.

Nipissing University is hosting NU2042 as part of its 25th anniversary this year.  The event features five researchers giving short, five-minute presentations about how the world might be changed by their research in the next 25 years.

Dr. David Tabachnick: The End of Ethics in a Technological Age

A question and answer session follows the presentations.  Light appetizers will be served and a cash bar is available.
The first NU2042 event was a resounding success, generating some amazing discussion about artificial intelligence, 3-D brain modeling, international collaborative research, and the engineering of new brains, eyes and other organs.
Future NU2042 events will take place at the same time and location on October 18, November 9, and December 7.
