My NipissingWelcome back for the 2022-23 academic year. After two years of quiet hallways and primarily virtual classes, it is great to once again see campus buzzing with the energy of the Fall term. With classes set to begin next week, we wanted to provide an update regarding our COVID-19 protocols and how we can all work together to keep our community safe and healthy. -
New Exhibit Honours Legacy of Paul Commanda and Indigenous Guides
ResearchA new exhibit, developed in partnership with Nipissing First Nation, Dokis First Nation, Nipissing University and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History (Pittsburgh), is now on display at the North Bay Museum, honouring the work of Paul Commanda, the Nbisiiing Guides and their contributions to science. Entitled Our Guides are Really Going Places/Nishnaabeg e-paamwingewaad waasa zhaawag: Nbisiiing Guides and the Legacy of Paul Commanda, the exhibit showcases the photographs and stories of the Indigenous Guides who led the Carnegie Museum expeditions that occurred between 1901 and 1958. -

As the housing shortage across the province continues, Canadore College and Nipissing University, together with Near North Landlords’ Association, are encouraging homeowners to consider the benefits of renting accommodations to students. -

GeneralYouth camps are back at Nipissing University! After a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Nipissing University is pleased to announce the return of a variety of sport-themed camps this June, July and August in partnership with Lakers Athletics. -
Grad students rise to challenge
ResearchEarlier this month, Nipissing University hosted its annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition where 14 students across six graduate programs were challenged with presenting a year's worth or more of research, in just three minutes. In addition to the strict time limit, presenters were restricted to just one PowerPoint slide and the spoken word to relay their complex research to the audience and a panel of three judges in an engaging and easy-to-understand way.
