Nighbor Elected as Nipissing University Alumni Advisory Board President

Nighbor is an instructional designer currently working at Nipissing University as a Learning Systems Technologist. She is also co-owner of the award-winning web design studio 9 Lives Design. She has a Bachelor of Education, a Specialized Bachelor of Arts in psychology, as well as a diploma in marketing and social media management and a certificate in digital media from OCAD. Before moving back to North Bay, Nighbor worked in creative services at an educational software firm with over 15 million users across the globe. Now she creates engaging, user-friendly experiences for the private sector and develops online courses at Nipissing. 

Nighbor is happiest when she is making a positive difference and does so in her community by supporting the arts and promoting active living. She is co-founder of the Codesign Initiative and the Cycle Safe campaign, and her studio provides pro-bono design to the Capitol Centre, North Bay Robotics, Gallery Hop, Startup Nipissing, and Creative Industries all with the hopes of promoting creativity and technology in the north. She also speaks at conferences educating business owners on the benefits of incorporating social media into their practice and volunteers annually at the Future Innovation Technology Creativity conference in Toronto.

When she's not working you can find her barefoot in her garden, dancing at a concert, or travelling with her husband Dave.
