Leadership Award for Dr. Carter
Congratulations to Dr. Lorraine Carter, Director of the Centre for Flexible Teaching and Learning at Nipissing, on receiving the Leadership Award from the Canadian Network for Innovation in Education/ le Réseau canadien pour l'innovation en education (CNIE- RCIÉ).Carter was presented with the award at the recent CNIE- RCIÉ conference in Ottawa.
The CNIE- RCIÉ Board was unanimous in its decision to recognize Carter, who has been involved with the Board for many years, as a Director and then as President in 2011-2012, and Acting Co-President in 2012-2013. During that time, she has helped to stabilize the organization as it evolved into its current form from the Canadian Association of Distance Education (CADE) and the Association of Media and Technology in Canada (AMTEC). “Lorraine is fully deserving of this recognition. She is a strong and capable leader who has made a difference. Nipissing University is very fortunate to have Lorraine in its midst,” wrote Diane Janes, President of CNIE-RCIE and an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at Cape Breton University, in a letter to Nipissing University outlining Carter’s award.
