What is the main goal for the intern?
As a UX/UI Design Intern, you'll have the opportunity to bring your creativity and user-centered thinking to life, contributing directly to the design and functionality of our digital platforms. You’ll work on real-world projects, collaborate with our design, marketing, and development teams, and gain hands-on experience in creating intuitive, engaging user experiences and visually compelling interfaces for web and mobile applications.

Responsibilities:

To accomplish this, we expect that you will:

  • Collaborate with the design team to create engaging and user-friendly interfaces for web and mobile applications.
  • Assist in designing and laying out web pages, banners, social media posts, and blog graphics while maintaining FreshFind’s brand identity.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual mockups using tools such as Omnigraffle, Fireworks, or similar design software.
  • Support user research activities, including gathering feedback through usability testing to help improve designs.
  • Assist with front-end development tasks using HTML, CSS, and SQL, in collaboration with developers.
  • Contribute to project management efforts by tracking tasks and communicating updates using Jira.
  • Research and apply current design trends to help FreshFind stay visually competitive in the ecommerce space.

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in postsecondary schools studying UX, product design
  • Must have portfolio link shown on resume
  • Proficiency in key design software such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite
  • (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and ChatGPT or equivalent tools.
  • Effective communication skills, able to articulate design choices and take constructive feedback.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset with an eye for aesthetics.

What support will you receive in completing the project?

You will work closely with the project lead who is supervising and available for questions. This will also include occasional progress meetings where adjustments to your tasks and duties can be made if necessary.
