Performance of The Gomeshi Effect to cap off Sexual Violence Awareness Week

Sexual Violence Prevention and Education (SVPE) will be hosting Sexual Violence Awareness Week, October 29 to November 2 to raise awareness about sexual violence and the important role that each person can play in the prevention of sexual violence in our community.

SVPE will have a table outside of the bookstore for students, faculty, and staff to visit for more information and resources. The week will end with a performance of The Ghomeshi Effect. The Ghomeshi Effect is a “documentary play that tackles sexual violence and the legal system in Canada, through an edited series of documented interviews, and uses dances to inform and interrogate the language used in the discussion of sexual violence”. Following the performance, there will be a talk back with the performers and the Sexual Violence Prevention and Education Coordinator. The Ghomeshi Effect performance will take place on November 2 at 7 p.m. in the Nipissing Theatre (F213). Admission is free, but donations to sexual violence initiatives on campus are greatly appreciated. Everyone is welcome.
