Men’s hoopsters fight cancer

The Nipissing Lakers Men’s Basketball program raised $2,276.65 in their Take the Charge against Prostate Cancer campaign that concluded Saturday night with a cheque presentation to Susan Plamondon, Fundraising Coordinator for the Canadian Cancer Society, and Dr. Mike Leckie, Special Guest and Prostate Cancer Survivor. The initiative was developed by Larry Tougas, Head of Basketball Operations, for the Lakers Basketball program. Together, coaches, players and the Nipissing University Student Union raised the money from online donations and a bean bag toss.
