Dr. Greer presenting on environmental history
Nipissing’s Masters of Environmental Studies/Environmental Sciences program is pleased to welcome Dr. Kirsten Greer, assistant professor in the departments of Geography and History, for a special presentation on Thursday, November 21, at 5 p.m. in the Weaver Auditorium (B201).Dr. Greer’s presentation, titled Museum Specimens in the Service of Science and Empire is the next event in the 2013/14 Masters of Environmental Studies/Environmental Sciences Speakers Series.
Her expertise in Environmental History straddles multiple disciplines, taking a cultural perspective on how bird specimens collected over 150 years ago, and now stored in museums, foster interdisciplinary research on past climates, landscapes and ecologies.
Everyone is welcome and the event is free of charge. Refreshments will be provided.
