Graduate Tuition and Fees

Each 3-credit course is considered a half course and each 6-credit course is considered one full course. Other Mandatory Fees are non-refundable after the start of the session. For a detailed breakdown of Other Mandatory fees refer to the Other Mandatory Fees section.

All students should refer to the Service Fees section for additional charges that may apply to them.

A 1.5% monthly (19.56% effective annual rate) late fee may be assessed to those students with outstanding fees after the published due date. Non-payment of fees may render a student ineligible for registration in future sessions. In addition, students who are in financial arrears to the university may face deregistration from future courses and will not be issued their transcripts of record, statement of standing, degree or related evidence of their academic progress until such time as their account is cleared.

Full-time and Flex-time students enrolled in a Master’s program at Nipissing University will be charged tuition and fees for the Fall, Winter, and Spring/Summer terms based on their program option and route as follows:

Course: Students are charged full-time fees for the first (6) terms of registration; after six terms students may apply for extensions (if needed) on a per-term basis through the School of Graduate Studies office. If approved, students will be billed at the extension fee rate.

MRP:  Students are charged full-time fees for the first six (6) terms of registration; after six terms students may apply for extensions (if needed) on a per-term basis through the School of Graduate Studies office. If approved, students will be billed at the extension fee rate.

Thesis:  Students charged full-time fees for the first six (6) terms of registration; after six terms students may apply for extensions (if needed) on a per-term basis through the School of Graduate Studies office. If approved, students will be billed at the extension fee rate.

Flex-time (Course/MRP/Thesis):  Students are charged full-time fees for the first six (6) terms of registration, and then charged student fees only for up to six (6) additional terms (terms 7 to 12); after twelve terms students may apply for extensions (if needed) on a per-term basis through the School of Graduate Studies office. If approved, students will be billed at the extension fee rate.

Fee Breakdown:

Tuition per Term = $2,835.36 for the 2023-2024 Academic Year
Student fees per Term = $357.89 for the Academic Year
Student Insurance Plan = $342.99 ** once per calendar year, normally in Fall Term

Extension Fees per term = $1000 plus Student Fees

Balance of Degree Fee:

Students will be charged a minimum of six (6) terms of tuition regardless of the time it takes to complete the degree.

** An interest charge at the rate of 1.5% will be assessed monthly (19.56% effective annual rate) on all student accounts with balances outstanding after the relevant due date for fees incurred.  Interest will not be waived for late payments.**​​​
