JOB OPPORTUNITY: IT SUMMER STUDENT:

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Customer and Information Services, the IT Summer Student will support IT operations and assist with initiatives that enhance the stability, reliability, security, and performance of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This position provides valuable hands-on experience in supporting enterprise technology environments within the utility industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide application software support (Wintel platforms).
• Assist with server administration for Wintel and Linux systems.
• Ensure compliance with cyber security directives
• Install system patches and other support applications.
• Support network services including firewalls, cabling, and access points.
• Assist with the asset lifecycle management program.
• Provide deskside support for workstations, printers, and other peripherals.
Working Conditions:
• Work is performed in an office environment at the NBHDL office.
• The position requires troubleshooting technical issues, supporting users, and maintaining IT equipment and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education: Grade 12 Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent required.
• Student Status: Must have attended school full-time during the preceding school year and be registered to attend full-time in the upcoming school year (written verification required).
• Licensing: Valid Class “G” driver’s license required.
• Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
