The Automotive Service Writer/Advisor serves as the primary customer service point-of-contact between the customer and the mechanics when a vehicle is in for repair at the Dealership. The Service Writer/Advisor intakes the vehicle, confirms the concerns with the customer, advises the customer of recommended maintenance/repairs, creates estimates, and communicates with the technicians to ensure the vehicle is repaired correctly and the customer is satisfied.

Hours: 40 hours/week
Wages: $35,000-$45,000/year
Duties and Qualifications:
The responsibilities of an Automotive Service Advisor or Writer include:
- Creating, editing and closing Service repair orders
- Booking customer appointments via phone or email
- Verifying warranty and service contract coverage
- Advising customers of recommended maintenance and corrective repairs
- Creating estimates for customers
- Describing to customers the symptoms, problems, and causes discovered as well as corrective actions required for their vehicle
- Maintaining a positive customer rapport and records
- Performing Follow up calls/emails after Service appointments to ensure customer satisfaction
Requirements:
The Successful applicant should:
- Be customer oriented
- Possess strong organizational & communication skills
- Be computer literate and a fast typer
- Have a passion for vehicles
- Possess a strong attention to detail
- Have excellent customer service skills
- Possess some technical automotive knowledge
- Have experience with computerized repair ordering systems
- Ability to keep up with a fast paced work environment
- Previous dealership experience would be an asset
- Bilingualism (French/English) would be a strong asset
