Full-Time Post- Doctoral Researcher Contract
Applications are invited for a full-time post-doctoral researcher to work on Role Engine Design and Implementation, which is a part of the Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) (NSERC/DRDC) Project: Effective Human Machine Cooperation with Intelligent Adaptive Autonomous Systems.
The successful candidate will join the Collaborative Systems Laboratory, Nipissing University, Canada. The expected start date of this twelve month position is November 1, 2019.
Candidates must possess a PhD in relevant fields and have insight in Human-Machine Interaction, Role-Based Collaboration, Adaptive Collaboration and the E-CARGO model. Candidates will be highly motivated and organised, and responsible for: designing and implementing a role engine prototype that supports an adaptive interface.
The major responsibilities are: role specification, agent evaluation, role assignment, role transfer and role presentation. Role specification defines clear rights and responsibilities of a role for appropriate agents to play. Agent evaluation provides algorithms to evaluate the state of the human operator, and the agents that reflect the robots in the field. Role assignment/role transfer will provide pertinent optimized assignments between agents and roles. Such assignments help keep the agent team aligned and aware of team performance while considering operating and other constraints. Role presentation is the direct connection to the Intelligent Adaptive Interface (IAI).
Review of applications will begin September 16, 2019, and will continue until the position is filled. The position is conditional upon receipt of external funding.
Interested individuals should submit a cover letter outlining their research interests, a curriculum vitae, a sample publication, and provide the names of three references to:firstname.lastname@example.org.
