About Sexual Violence Prevention and Education
The Sexual Violence Prevention and Education Coordinator (SVPEC) provides support to Nipissing Community members who have experienced sexual violence. The Sexual Violence Prevention and Education Coordinator is a resource for all disclosures in a non-emergency situation. The coordinator will provide information about available supports and services, including information on interim measures that may be available to address the immediate needs of the survivor. This support may include both on campus and off campus options. Students of all years, programs, and location can access services if they have experienced sexual violence on or off campus, or before attending Nipissing. Students studying at a distance, online or who are on practicum outside of North Bay can also reach out to the Sexual Violence Prevention and Education Coordinator for support and information about resources in the student's community.
The office also provides support to professional staff and faculty. The office can be accessed by staff and faculty who have concerns, comments, or questions about sexual violence, the Sexual Violence Prevention, Support and Response Policy, and training.
Additionally, The Sexual Violence Prevention and Education Office provides educational opportunities for the Nipissing Community. To learn more about the initiatives on campus, please visit the Events page.
No referral is necessary and working with the Sexual Violence Prevention and Education Coordinator is voluntary.
